Model-driven develpment for distributed, realtime, embedded systems

After being an emerging trend, Model-Driven Development (MDD) is now an established paradigm which application spans multiple domains. One of the main is distributed real-time and embedded systems (DRES) development where MDD has demonstrated (notably with the adoption of the UML MARTE profile) its applicability. This spring school proposes to its participants a set of carefully selected lectures dealing with MDD for DRES and related topics. The objective is to provide each participant with enough materials to understand the main issues and challenges in MDD for DRES and to have a clear picture of the most recent advances in the field. All our lecturers are renown experts with outstanding oral and pedagogic skills and the spring school takes place in a charming area of the French Alps.

The spring school program includes a balanced blend of academic and industrial contributions. Academic lecturers will provide an overview of their research theme, including a state-of-the-art and an outline of the emerging trends and challenges. Industrial lecturers' contributions will focus on emerging and established standards (e.g. Autosar) and on feedback about MDD application to DRES development in an industrial context. The program has been defined to cover all topics relating to MDD for DRES including general MDD topics (e.g. model testing) and topics most specific to real-time (e.g. middleware infrastructures for RTE systems). The spring school will also tackle the tool support issue with a session dedicated to tool demonstrations. A particular emphasis will also be put on the newly adopted UML Profile for Modeling and Analysis of Real-Time and Embedded systems (MARTE), with several slots specifically dedicated to this topic.
